1. Who we are

Bettr Edge Ltd ("Bettr Edge", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through bettredge.co.uk. We are registered in England and Wales. For data protection queries, contact us at hello@bettredge.co.uk.

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your first name and email address
• A hashed password (we never store your password in plain text)
• Your subscription status and billing reference (via Stripe)
• Push notification subscription tokens if you enable notifications
• Basic usage data (pages visited, alerts viewed)

We do not collect payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, subject to their own privacy policy.

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

• Provide and operate the Bettr Edge service
• Send value bet alerts to your device
• Process your subscription and billing
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)
• Respond to support requests
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your data under the following legal bases (UK GDPR):

• Contract — to fulfil our service agreement with you
• Legitimate interests — to operate and improve the service
• Legal obligation — where required by law
• Consent — for marketing communications (you may opt out at any time)

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes (e.g. billing records, which are kept for 7 years under UK tax law).

We share data with the following trusted third parties:

• Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in EU)
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — website hosting
• Loops.so — transactional email delivery

All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements and comply with UK GDPR requirements.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — specifically, a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No cookie consent banner is required for essential cookies under UK GDPR.
