Get set up
Install Bettr Edge on your phone.
Adding Bettr Edge to your home screen takes about 20 seconds. Once installed, you'll receive push notifications direct to your phone the moment an alert fires — no need to keep the website open.
Why install
Real-time alerts
Get notified the moment an alert fires — even when the app is closed.
No browser needed
Tap the app icon on your home screen. Same as any other app.
No app store
Installs straight from the website. No downloads, no review process.
iPhone & iPad
On iPhone or iPad.
Requires iOS 16.4 or later for push notifications.
Open Bettr Edge in Safari
Open the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad and go to bettredge.co.uk. Make sure you're using Safari — not Chrome or any other browser. The install option only appears in Safari on iOS.
Tap the Share button
Look at the bottom of the screen (or top on iPad) for the Share icon — a square with an arrow pointing up. Tap it to open the share menu.
Tap "Add to Home Screen"
Scroll down in the share menu. You'll see a list of actions — find and tap "Add to Home Screen". If you don't see it straight away, scroll down further; it's sometimes hidden below the social sharing icons.
Tap "Add"
You'll see a preview showing the Bettr Edge icon and name. Tap "Add" in the top right corner. The app icon will now appear on your home screen.
Open the app and enable notifications
Find the Bettr Edge icon on your home screen and tap to open. Sign in if asked. Go to Settings (in the app menu) and tap "Enable notifications". Allow when iOS asks for permission.
Android
On Android.
Works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, and most Chromium-based browsers.
Open Bettr Edge in Chrome
On your Android phone, open Chrome and go to bettredge.co.uk. Chrome is the recommended browser for the smoothest install experience.
Tap the menu (three dots)
Tap the three vertical dots in the top right corner of Chrome to open the menu.
Tap "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"
In the menu you'll see either "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" — tap whichever appears. Chrome may also have shown a banner at the bottom of the page prompting you to install; you can use that instead.
Tap "Install" to confirm
A dialog will appear with the Bettr Edge icon and name. Tap "Install" to confirm. The app will appear in your app drawer and home screen.
Open the app and enable notifications
Tap the Bettr Edge icon to open. Sign in, go to Settings, and tap "Enable notifications". Allow Android's permission prompt.
Desktop
On desktop.
Optional — but useful if you want notifications on your computer too.
Open Bettr Edge in Chrome or Edge
On your computer, go to bettredge.co.uk in Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Firefox and Safari on Mac do not currently support installing web apps.
Look for the install icon in the address bar
On the right side of the address bar, look for a small icon showing a screen with a downward arrow (or a "+" inside a frame). Click it.
Click "Install"
A small dialog will appear asking if you want to install Bettr Edge. Click "Install" to confirm.
Sign in and enable notifications
The app will open in its own window. Sign in, go to Settings, and tap "Enable notifications". Allow your browser's permission prompt.
Troubleshooting
Something not working?
I don't see "Add to Home Screen" on iPhone+
Make sure you're using Safari — not Chrome, Firefox, or any other browser on iOS. Only Safari supports installing web apps on iPhone and iPad. Also try scrolling further down in the share menu.
Notifications aren't coming through+
Open the Bettr Edge app (not the browser), go to Settings, and make sure "Enable notifications" is toggled on. If it says "Blocked", you'll need to go into your phone's system settings → Notifications → Bettr Edge → allow notifications. On iPhone, you must be on iOS 16.4 or later.
The app icon disappeared from my home screen+
You may have accidentally deleted it. Just repeat the install steps to add it back. Your account and notifications settings won't be lost.
I'm on an older iPhone — will this work?+
You need iOS 16.4 or later for push notifications. The app itself works on older versions but notifications are only available from iOS 16.4 upwards.
I'm on iPad — does it work?+
Yes. The install steps are the same as iPhone, but the Share button is in the top right of Safari rather than the bottom.
